New: Research Report on DeFi and Real Estate
Many industries in this world have been transformed by technology. With the digital revolution in markets, industries are now more interconnected leading to increased flexibility and productivity. Although the real estate industry has been slow to adopt technology over the last decade, a significant transformation has occurred within the industry such as smart buildings, an online marketplace for buying and selling, crowdfunding, multiple listing services (MLS) through broker networks, and so on. Despite these technological advancements, liquidity and transaction efficiency remain major challenges in today’s market. The real estate transaction process is characterized by complex networks of involvement from multiple stakeholders. Based on existing issues in the real estate sector, extensive research was conducted to determine how the real estate sector can use technology to make real estate transactions as smooth as possible.
The report investigated decentralized finance technology and tokenization opportunities, specifically how they might be used in commercial real estate transactions. The tokenization allows the DeFi Lending protocol to be used to fund commercial real estate. This level took a long time to complete but with the adoption of this technology, it can now be completed in minutes. The assets are stored on the blockchain, and smart contracts connect lenders and borrowers, enforce loan terms, and distribute interest, all without the involvement of a middleman. The study helps to improve understanding of decentralized finance in the context of the commercial real estate sector as well as potential benefits, drawbacks, and major areas of adoption.

When asked about tokenisation, Clauss Skanning, CEO of Danish firm, DigiShares (specialising in tokenising real world assets), said: “Tokenization is in its essence about digitization, automation, fractionalization, and liquidity. Tokenisation as a solution: A summary
Digitalisation is changing the market for investors and fund managers. A year ago, we would not have foreseen conflict in Europe or the current financial news on inflation and interest rates. It was not a time for large falls in crypto currencies nor for other news affecting the crypto eco system. It would be possible to think this is the end for digital assets. However, the use of digital technology both for process and for tokens in the funds sector is advancing notwithstanding the crypto currencies turmoil.
DigiShares took part in the webinar hosted by the CMS Funds Group held a webinar on the 22nd of June 2022 for fund managers and investors as part of a series on distributed ledger technology and tokenisation. The event was primarily to look into uses, benefits and examples of how digital assets are evolving and technology is being applied in the sector. However, given the news backdrop, there were some important questions:
· Is the crypto news a game changer, a reason for pause or not?
· Will tokenisation and digital technology continue to grow and how?
· Is technology and regulation in a better shape?

- Accredited investors are allowed to participate in private placements (the traditional type of fundraising during asset tokenization) in the EU without any limitations.
- There is no need to register a prospectus with the competent authorities if the offering amount is below a certain threshold. This figure varies from country to country. As a rule, it is from €5 million to €8 million.
Report: Blockchain Investments are disrupting the Real Estate Industry

]]>News Article: DigiShares Becomes First Grant Recipient of Polymesh’s Ecosystem Development Fund for Integrating Polymesh
DigiShares is excited to announce that we are the first company to receive a grant from the Polymesh Association for integrating Polymesh through Polymesh’s new Ecosystem Development Fund (EDF).
DigiShares will receive a grant from the EDF for integrating Polymesh with DigiShares technology and expanding the Polymesh ecosystem into DigiShares’ network of clients and trusted partners. As part of the integration, DigiShares will longer term support migration of their clients’ existing ERC-1400 assets from Ethereum to Polymesh, demonstrating a leading tokenization platform’s trust in Polymesh as the premier blockchain for regulated assets.
BaFin Does Not Deem the $BRICK-Token as a Security
DigiShares and RealEstate.Exchange (RE.X) are happy to announce that our $BRICK-token has been vetted by the German Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin).
On the matter, DigiShares’ CEO Claus Skaaning commented:
“It has immense importance for RE.X that BRICK is now classified as a utility token by BaFin. It means we can move forward with our plans to fundraise and even more important, it means we can use BRICK to facilitate network effects, payments and yield generation within the RE.X ecosystem in a fully compliant manner.”
